Calamansi – The Sour

The calamansi is something of a citrus fruit melting pot. Lime, orange, tangerine and lemon come together as a plea against clarity. The Calamansi resists the attribution of the exotic just because a clear assignment is difficult. She is a little of many things and therefore, of course, more of everything. More vitamin C, phosphorus, calcium and iron. More complexity and more flavor, oscillating between bitter and sour poles. Some people may know the ping-pong ball-sized calamansi from the street stall during their holidays in Southeast Asia. It is self-confident but selfless and therefore also excellently suited as a mixed drink. It is reassuring to know that the calamansi exist.
