 Porcelain. Microwave and dishwasher safe. Do not overheat in the microwave or heat without water. Wash with care. Do not use abrasive detergents or steel wool. The size and shape of the product varies with each item due to the manufacturing process. The appearance of the unevenness of the colored glaze varies with each item. Some products may have a burnt-like texture on the surface. It is a unique glaze effect called "Yo-hen", an unintentional change in color that shows up on the ceramic and porcelain after firing.
